This policy is a working draft prepared for House of Bread Church's review. It should be reviewed by church leadership and qualified counsel before the site is promoted publicly.
Who We Are
This website is operated by House of Bread Church, 3902 E. Rio Grande, Victoria, TX 77901.
Information We Collect
- Information you give us — such as your name, email address, phone number, mailing address, household details, prayer requests, event registrations, and messages you send through our forms.
- Giving and purchase records — the amount, date, category, and method of donations, bookstore orders, and event payments. Card payments are processed by Square; we never receive or store your full card number or security code.
- Attendance records — when you check in to a service or event, we record that you attended and how you checked in. If you choose location check-in, your device's location is used once, at that moment, to confirm you are at the church. We keep only whether the check-in was confirmed and the approximate distance — not your coordinates — and we never track your location continuously.
- Technical information — a secure sign-in cookie that keeps you logged in, and basic server logs used to protect the site.
How We Use Information
We use your information to provide Member Connect, process gifts and orders, ship or hold purchases for pickup, register you for events and classes, prepare annual contribution statements, respond to prayer requests and messages, and keep the site secure.
Who Can See Your Information
Your profile, contact details, household, giving history, and prayer requests are private. Other members cannot view them. Only authorized church staff with a specific need (for example, finance staff for giving statements or pastoral staff for care) can access them, and that access is logged.
We share information with service providers only as needed to operate the site — for example Square (payments), Shippo and shipping carriers (deliveries), and our email provider. We do not sell your information.
Your Choices
You can view and update your profile in Member Connect, unsubscribe from newsletters at any time, and ask us to correct or delete your information, subject to records we must keep (such as contribution records needed for tax receipts).
Children
Member Connect accounts are intended for adults. Children may be listed within a household by a parent or guardian.
Security
We use encrypted connections, role-based access controls, stronger sign-in requirements for staff with financial or administrative access, and regular backups.
